What Works Wednesday

It's Wednesday, and I'm sharing a useful tip that actually works!

I discovered this idea on pinterest, from Biggie over at Lunch In A Box. It provides the goodness of fresh and the convenience of frozen... green onions, that is.

Simply wash your green onions (you know, the ones that you forget about in the produce drawer of your fridge, then you discover dry and shriveled a week and half later because you did't use them within two days of purchase... yeah, those - but pre-shriveled). Dry them very well to avoid moisture joining the journey to the freezer. Moisture leads to freezer burn, leads to nasty, wasted green onions. Then chop 'em up and, using a funnel, pour into a clean, empty water bottle. Store in your freezer for up to three weeks. *note: frozen onions are best used in cooked dishes, rather than salads
