Phil & Chris

Phil Wickham and Chris Tomlin: is there a better duo?
They really should just do a whole album together.

My Hands Are Holding You...

I can't seem to embed a video, lately.  My limited computer skills might have something to do with it...

Some days I just need to play this song on a loop.

"Sweetly Broken"

I just really love this song. I think I'll play it on a loop all day today.

The Ultimate Moody Monday Selection

I know this is a bit repetitive, but I just have to do it. Too soon, you say? I think not! Here we have the ultimate Moody-Monday selection in Josh Garrels' song Rise. This is what I need on a day I'm feeling a little gritty and sluggish. It might not be your style of music, and he definitely has a unique voice... but you can't deny the awesome lyrics.

Moody Monday. Thanks To Bandcamp. And Josh Garrels

It's definitely a Moody Monday around here. The donuts we all had for breakfast might have something to do with it. Nevertheless, I'm enjoying Josh Garrels album Love & War & The Sea In Between, that I downloaded for free from bandcamp.com. Yeah, all 18 tracks, totally free! It's great easy-listening/background music/moody-monday material!
If you don't like the first song, keep going. He covers a wide range of styles in this album :) I like No. 3...

You Never Let Go

I hear this song periodically, and it always reminds me to pray for one specific person. God's recently added two more individuals I pray this song for. Feeling burdened for them today.
Great is His faithfulness!!

Moody Monday

It's late, but it's still Monday. Here is another installment of my moody Monday music mix. I honestly don't have any rhyme or reason to my selection process. So far, I have just posted a video of what I'm literally listening to that morning. Today was Mumford & Sons. I pretty much have liked everything this band has ever written, which is kind of a crazy thing if you think about it. I know they're getting pretty famous now, so I only hope they can withstand the fame and keep it real. This song is from their debut album Sigh No More:

Moody Monday

Apparently I can't do much more than embed youtube videos... regardless, Monday is here again. So here's some good old Johnny Cash. Doesn't get much better than this:

Moody Monday

Most Mondays I find myself listening to our "moody mix" on itunes, while cleaning the house. So surprising, right? It's generally a day spent recovering from the weekend, when nothing really got done and the mess around here mysteriously tripled in like a five hour period. I think Mondays are generally moody days for people, so I've decided to celebrate it. Here every Monday I'll be sharing a song I love that in some way or another fits into my moody music category. What exactly does that mean, you ask? You'll just have to be surprised.
This week we're visiting Ben Harper - back when he was good. In my opinion, one of the most talented musicians of all time. Now, unfortunately, not so much. I still hope that someday he'll figure it out and make good music again. We shall see.
This is a live performance (cause I couldn't find any other video) of which I'm not totally loving this version. But the lyrics still bring it. Harper's performing "I Want To Be Ready" with The Blind Boys of Alabama:

"Sister"

I know I have yet to get busy posting helpful tips, fun ideas, or anything about my sewing adventures, but it's on the horizon...I promise. Until then, I'm sharing one of my favorite songs of all time. I know that's a heavy thing to say, "favorite of all time," but the truth is this song moves me every time I hear it. It reaches a far, quiet corner in me that stirs me to search my heart. Also, I think the lyrics are beautifully poetic... anyway, this is what I'm listening to today:

Always

We sang this song in church today, and now I'm trying to burn it into my brain.

...also, look forward to my wild week of sewing. Updates SOON!
